Temperature monitoring in the cold chain

Live monitoring and alerts, so a temperature deviation is known as it happens, not after the shipment is delivered.

Example scenarios

The cases on this page are example scenarios that show how we work. They are not real client work or measured results. Real projects we have permission to publish will be added and marked as such.

Situation

Picture a logistics company moving goods in refrigerated vehicles and stores. Temperature records are downloaded from the device and checked at the end of each shipment.

Problem

If a deviation is understood only after delivery, the goods are already damaged. Proving afterwards which vehicle, when and for how long is hard as well.

Approach

  1. 01

    We decide the measuring points

Together we plan which temperature range is watched in which vehicle or store, and where the sensors go.

  2. 02

    We monitor live

Sensor data lands on the dashboard in real time, and past values can be viewed per vehicle or store.

  3. 03

    We alert on deviation

When the temperature leaves the allowed range the right person is told at once, and the event is kept on record.

What you receive

  • Sensor data pipeline
  • Live temperature dashboard
  • Alert rules
  • Event records

How success is measured

We write measures together at the start, such as how long a deviation takes to be noticed and the number of events recorded. In a real project we report them after handover.
